The blue infrastructure together with urban greenery create a blue and green infrastructure in urbanized areas. It is essential in increasing the resilience of cities to the negative effects of climate change, especially the occurrence of torrential rains and related flash floods, as well as droughts and consequently lack of water.

City greenery located near water tanks has many important ecological functions related to mitigating the adverse effects of climate change, for example: it improves water retention, cools and cleans the air, and is a source of biodiversity.

The Commune of Wyszków obtained funding of PLN 5 million for the implementation of the project entitled "Mitigating climate change and adapting to its effects in Wyszków".

The local government in Wyszków plans to take activities to keep the water in the place of rainfall. Therefore, municipal educational institutions will be equipped with containers to collect rainwater. The water can be used to irrigation of green areas. Educational campaign "Wyszków catches rainwater" will be carried out in schools and kindergartens. Another element of the project is a pocket park with elements of a rain garden. This action will be combined with an educational action, "TOGETHER FOR THE CLIMATE - WE BUILD A RAIN GARDEN", during which students of Primary School No. 5 in Wyszków will gain practical knowledge in the field of creating rain gardens and their functions in the ecosystem.
